The Tomoe is an ancient Shinto symbol. These 'swirling commas' have taken on many interpretations over the centuries but we like most that they can symbolize the synergy between the sky, earth and sea. Many interpret the Tomoe as a symbol of protection, good luck and spiritual enlightenment. Both work for us!
We've etch this Tomoe symbol from a picture that we took in Kyoto (on a temple paper lamp). It's hand-cast in aged sterling silver and measures 7/8 x 3/4" (2.2 x 1.9 cm) and hangs on a silver 21" (53 cm) chain.
