Mfunte

This statement pendant is cast from a found piece of ‘bartering’ money used by the Mfunte tribe of Cameroon near Nigeria.  For us, it's a beautifully organic and shapely piece.  Originally made from iron, these money ‘blades’ were used in bartering transactions with other local tribes.  We’ve kept the original eroded texture of the once buried blade.  Our pendant hangs on a long 30” (76 cm).  This substantial pendant measures 3.5 x 1" (9 x 2.5 cm).
